Acquired by Vitol Refining Group BV, a wholly owned Vitol subsidiary in July 2017, the facility was previously owned by Koch HC Partnership BV and has expanded its refining capacity to 140kbpd. today
Expansion and optimisation over the last two decades
Originally constructed as a simple condensate splitter in December 1993, expansion and optimisation over the last two decades, including the addition of a naphtha splitting unit in 2008, and a multi-phase upgrade, has transformed VPR into one of Europe’s most environmentally efficient refining sites. Refining capacity at the refinery has increased from 65kbpd to 140kbpd today.
Located at the heart of Rotterdam’s oil and petchem industry, near the village of Rozenburg in the Netherlands, the refinery is strategically located to service customers across the region.
