As markets open up, this can create many opportunities, and a state-owned electricity generator in Europe approached Vitol to explore how we could add value as a supplier of their feedstocks.
Vitol worked with the generator to:
- Win their fuel oil supply tender at competitive prices, acting as their ‘eyes and ears’ around the global marketplace
- Bring in our expertise and recommend improvements to ensure optimum pricing, and possible price/margin hedging
- Review supply facilities and recommend improvements, including financing options
- Propose different supply arrangements – e.g. coal, natural gas, LNG – as well as possible CER projects
