Saigak
Until December 2011, Arawak held a 40% non-operated interest in the Saigak oil producing field, which was operated by Maersk Oil. Having received government approval for the acquisition of Maersk’s 60% interest, we have now taken over operatorship and plan to ramp up activity in the near future.
Saigak covers an area of 11 sq km in the Aktyubinsk region and is a suprasalt oil field with Upper Permian and Lower Triassic age reservoirs at depths of 1,570 to 2,800 metres.
Total Saigak production in 2011was 299,344 barrels, or an average 820 bopd.
