The EU Regulation on chemicals, known as REACH – Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (EC No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006) imposes new requirements on companies. Among others, REACH requires that the majority of substances that are manufactured or imported into the EU must be registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. REACH will also require communication in the supply chain and may impose restrictions and authorization for certain types of hazardous substances.
The legislation is ultimately aimed at protecting public health and the environment from hazardous chemicals. We welcome the program’s objectives of protecting human health and the environment and we have registered the substances we trade in order to be compliant with the legislation.
