Prichalny
In March 2010, Arawak Energy was awarded a 100% interest in the Prichalny exploration block, situated northeast of the Sotchemyu-Talyu fields and augmenting the company’s acreage position in the Timan-Pechora Basin. The licence is located to the east of the Sotchemyu-Talyu accumulations and benefits from its proximity to rail and road networks and the Usa-Ukhta oil pipeline.
This 25-year exploration and production licence covers an area of 1,051 sq km, 60 km southwest of Pechora. Previous work on the licence included the acquisition of 1,126 km of 2D seismic data and the drilling of five exploration wells. The old 2D seismic data has now been reprocessed and reinterpreted and a further 59 km 2D and 41 km2 3D is being shot in 2012. Following the results of this shoot, we will commence a drilling programme targeting the Permian and Upper Devonian carbonate reservoirs.
