Ledovy Licence 67

Arawak Energy holds a 50% non-operated working interest in the 2,447 sq km Ledovy exploration block, Licence 67, which lies west of the Ob River in the main oil-bearing area of the Tomsk Oblast in Western Siberia and is surrounded by proven and producing oil and gas fields. PetroNeft Resources plc is the operator of the licence.

Eight wells have been drilled on the licence and two structures, Ledovoye and Sklonavaya, have tested oil. Source rocks are present in the Lower Jurassic Togur and Upper Jurassic Bazhenov formations. Nearby oil fields produce primarily from Upper Jurassic sandstone reservoirs and Cretaceous sandstones.

The initial three-year work commitment involves reprocessing of old well and seismic data, acquisition of 750 km of 2D seismic data and drilling one exploration well.

To date we have reprocessed almost 4,500 km 2D seismic data and digitised and reinterpreted electric logs for 21 vintage wells. At the end of 2010 Ryder Scott estimated that Arawak’s net 2P reserves for Ledovoye were 14.024 mln bbls and P3 resources for Cheremshanskaya were 67.698 mln bbls.

The operator PetroNeft has since drilled two exploration wells on the licence, Cheremshanskaya No. 3 and Ledovaya No. 2a.

Cheremshanskaya No. 3 is adjacent to well No. 1 drilled in the 1960’s and was targeting potential ‘missed pay’ in the Upper, Middle and Lower Jurassic horizons. It has been drilled to its target depth and is currently being tested.

Ledovaya No. 2a spudded in December 2011 and testing of the combined J1-1 + J1-2 interval consisting of 5m of net oil pay is now complete. The well achieved stabilised natural oil flow of 8.3 m³/day (52 bopd) on a 3mm choke. This oil is good quality at 34 degree API. The well has now been temporarily suspended whilst the options for further field development/delineation are reviewed.
